One day, during breakfast, the Mexican coach choked on a piece of bread that ended up blocking his windpipe. Luckily, a team doctor was on the scene and helped the 65-year-old coach in time.

‘The little thing you don’t know about Aguirre is that he almost died at training one day. I was going to have breakfast and I saw him go out with the doctor and the doctor hit him in the windpipe because he was choking on bread and we saw he was feeling very bad.’

‘We all don’t know about first aid, rescue or resuscitation. We think that when we choke, we have to drink water. And that’s a mistake. What you have to do is try to get the food out.
